Coffee from Costa Rica is very special because the farmers in this area are able to consistantly produce some of the finest coffee in the world year after year. They have the right growing conditions along with a solid infrastructure in place. Costa Rica has about 80,000 small scale coffee farms. Coffee is their major cash crop. Costa Rica was the first Central American nation to have a coffee industry.
Flavor characteristics depend on where the coffee was grown. Flavor notes may include milk chocolate and honey, with some bright fruit character. Some will have hints of berries and citrus.

Light roast - produces a clean and sweet taste
Medium roast - has a clean taste with mild acidity
Dark roast - full body of flavor
